Todd Lawson

Where and from whom do you find your inspiration?
History: Americana, the 50's, 60's and more conservative eras as well as times that were fueled by political and social turmoil. Comic books, classic toys and retro advertising. Graphic design. Politics and antisocial actions. Any exposing of deeply personal expressions or emotions, honestly unfiltered can be the strongest shocker.

Day job?
I have been an art director and designer in advertising as well as publishing for nearly a decade and work with international clientele and campaigns. I love the high stress and craziness of it all.

What is your recipe for love?
Expect that there will be boring times and expect that there will be amazing times. And be a good listener and an honest communicator.

What is your philosophy of community?
Communities are nice when you're bored or lonely, but don't become to dependent on them. Collaborations are fun, but at the end of the day it is important to make sure your ideas are your own and not based on the popular vote.

Please share with us a story that changed your life.
One day a new friend in grade school handed me a skateboard and a cassette tape of Kill 'em All and convinced me that I could be whatever I wanted... I never looked back.
